Start of 2017 Moray Council Budget Consultation

  • The Moray Council will be conducting public engagement activities and surveys as part of a budget review from April to October.
  • The Community Safety Strategy is undergoing review during the summer. Point of contact is Willie Findlay: 01343 563322.
  • Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) will be conducting consultation and engagement on their Strategic Plan and Local Fire and Rescue Plan from May to September.
  • The Children's Services Plan and Self-Directed Support consultations will be ongoing throughout the year. Points of contact are Anne Pendery (tel: 01343 56563400) for the former and Kathy Henwood (tel: 01343 563608) for the latter.
  • Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) ongoing engagement with interest groups (e.g. social enterprises, small businesses, etc.)
  • Police Scotland will be conducting ongoing online engagement activities: click here to access the survey.
  • Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) Station Managers with responsibility for each area attend local area forum meetings on a quarterly basis.
  • The Skills Development Scotland (SDS) team in Elgin are planning a series of events to support people looking for work. One popup event will happen every month from March-December 2016.  Example planned events: CV tips; local labour market information; interview skills and employer updates.
  • The  Moray Council's Trading Standards team will be conducting ongoing engagement via their Twitter and Facebook accounts, and sending out customer surveys to get feedback on consumer advice, money advice and welfare benefits service users.
  • The Moray Council will be holding an informal consultation on Taxi Fares in August prior to a formal consultation in October.
  • Ongoing activities will also be carried out for Regional Transport through a mix of formal written consultation and informal engagement with members of the public and/or community councils. For more information: Nichola Smith, 01343 563774.
